Internship Abroad

While I studied abroad in Seville, Spain, I had the amazing opportunity of interning at Clínica Santa Isabel. Clínica Santa Isabel is a private general hospital with over 40 specialties. Throughout my time as an intern, I observed various specialties, from emergency medicine to surgery. From this experience, I was able to expand my medical terminology in Spanish, familiarize myself with common procedures, observe doctor-patient communication, and understand how diagnoses are performed.

El Incremento del Cáncer de Mama en España y sus Implicaciones Para la Salud Pública

 

This paper was written as a reflection of my time at my internship in Spain. One of the critical issues I learned about during my time abroad was the rising incidence of breast cancer. Some of the breast cancer patients I met throughout my time at the hospital helped me understand this problem as well as the emotional and physical impact this disease has had on them.
